Art Therapy uses drawing to express ideas and emotions. It is a potent de-stressing practice that seeks to help to discriminate feelings. Whilst hands are busy creating Art, the mind relaxes and tensions are relieved. (Also: it is not necessary to know how to draw!) It can help you with stress relief, anxiety control, relationship problems, self knowledge, self esteem issues, emotional balance, etc.
English speaking clients who seek therapy in Brazil and wish to try something different, should try Art Therapy with me! The sessions usually go like this: An activity is suggested, developed and after that, we talk about it.
Each session takes up to 50 minutes (either online or in person). The requested material for the session is: a blank sheet of paper, colored crayons (if you happen to have available oil pastel crayons, it’s even better!) or colored pencils.
